of the lecture at the Århus Art Academy
by
Anke
Becker / artist and founder of the international art-project
"Anonymous Drawings"
In the first part of the lecture I give you an insight to my
work-practice as an artist working mainly with paper;
creating large-scaled imaginary landscapes and utopian
topographies.
The second part will be about the concept and the appearance of my
art-project Anonymous Drawings,
founded in 2006 in Berlin. – Related issues will be : The
principle of collage in my personal art and in the formal style of the
Anonymous Drawings shows / What impact can anonymity have referring to
the presentation of art work? / What possible effect has a predefined,
unit sales price? / How to define „value“ in the art world ? / How
to judge art? / How to select? / Curated versus uncurated shows / Can
everybody be an artist? / What happens if you set up an open
international call for participation? (...)
Finally I will talk more generally about the importance of alternative
strategies besides the commercial art-market and about my experiences
regarding self-organized art-projects and artist-networks.
Subsequently I will be pleased to answer your questions and discuss
particular topics in detail.
The lecture will be accompanied
with a rich collection of images.
